The pre-school period is from 2 to six years of age. During these years, a strong foundation of child’s personality and cognitive, physical, social and emotional development are laid. Out of all areas of development, the earliest and most rapid are of development is motor development. Through motor development, the child emerges from state of dependence to independence. The sequence in which each child passes through the stages of motor development is relatively fixed, but pace differs from child to child. To stimulate the gross, fine and cognitive skills in children they need explore. The thinking of a children are governed by their perceptions, i.e. by what they observes before them. The understanding in children are improved by the extent of their experiences. Children need to be provided with various opportunities for reasoning, problem – solving and thinking creatively.

The preschool learning has a long-lasting effect on their cognitive development, therefore preschool environment should be pleasurable. Learning should be stimulating and not frightening. Teaching methods should be in play way and with creative approach. Children should be given opportunity to stimulate to match, classify, seriate, sequence, hypothesis and experiment. Intelligent activities includes expressing creatively and learning concepts and fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic. To improve their vocabulary storytelling, puppet play are introduced till they become a part of active vocabulary
